IP Phones
Which AVAYA IP Phone do you need? This page is dedicated to the AVAYA IP Phones that can be deployed on the AVAYA IP Office Telephone System.
Please contact us if you want some advice as to whether you should deploy digital or IP telephones in your business
Firstly, you should know that there are similar IP phone versions of some of the digital phones shown on the IP Office handset page of this web site. One of the most popular ranges of phones was the 5600 series (no longer available for sale) - these included the 5621, 5620, 5610 and 5602SW. Note the functionality is identical to the 5400 digital phones.
The most popular IP Phones that are current are the 1600 series phones and the 9600 phones. The 1600 range handsets are the cheapest to buy. The range comprises of the 1603, 1603SW, 1608 and 1616. It is recommended that anyone requiring decent functionality should ignore the 1603 and 1603SW - these handsets would be OK for a meeting room. Note the 1603 does NOT have a switch in the back - in other words, you cannot connect a PC into it so it needs it's own outlet/socket.

The AVAYA 1608 IP telephone is very popular and is shown to the right.
The AVAYA 1616 IP telephone is an excellent telephone for busy users - see picture below.
The 9600 series of IP phones should be used for most customers in our opinion. This range is made up of the following IP phones: 9608, 9611G, 9621G, 9641G, 9620L, 9620C, 9630, 9630G, 9640G, 9650 and 9650C. The 'G' suffix signifies that the handset can be used as a Gigabit device.
The 9608 and 9611G have been recently withdrawn from sale (December 2011). The 9621G and 9641G are the very latest touch screen IP phones for AVAYA IP Office.
The remaining phones are 'first generation' 9600 series telephones that were originally usable only on the AVAYA Aura platform (the AVAYA Aura is AVAYA's enterprise product for large corporate organisations requiring more than 300 extensions). Please see below for a short explanation of the features of each of these IP phones.
The color touch-screen models, the 9621G and 9641G, evolve the user experience of the 9600 Series with a touch interface. Having color touch-screens on more models, with flexible software that can be enhanced in the future, these Deskphones provide a platform for near and long term enhancements that leverage the touch-screen capabilities. The 9621G and 9641G are targeted at Essential users who rely on the phone for business communications or those users that can benefit from tighter and easier access to a wider range of Avaya applications.
Both telephones are ready for future support of Wideband Audio on IP Office, giving a future proof investment path. The full duplex hands free audio performance is truly differentiating for heavy speaker phone users. All the new 9600 Series IP Deskphones are low power including the 9621G and 9641G which are both PoE Class 2. The 9641G is the first IP Deskphone that can provide Gigabit Ethernet, a color screen AND a button module while consuming only PoE Class two power.
The 9621G and 9641G have a similar look and feel to the current 9600 series models and include a dual position flip stand that positions the phone at approximately 20 in the low position or 60 in the upright position. The high resolution touch-screen displays are adjustable to 4 independent positions and both models support removable faceplates and have separate part numbers for versions without a faceplate.
The 9641G can be used with the new 2 x 12 button module and the original 24 button version.A maximum of three button modules can be connected at one time.
Please note that the power class will be increased with the addition of button modules. The 12 button and 24 button modules cannot be intermixed on a single phone. The 9621G does not support a button module.
The 9641G also includes a USB interface (v2.0).
